Dear Parents and Family Members,
We are continuing our efforts to provide a safe and virus free environment for all our employees and everyone we support at Ability Building Services. As you probably know, other than frequent handwashing, the main element in limiting the spread of the Corona virus is social distancing and limiting the number of people with whom we have contact. Many of you have chosen to take your loved one home for the duration of this pandemic, and we greatly appreciate it because it helps alleviate our concerns regarding limiting contacts and helps ensure we have adequate staff at all our locations.
At this time, we are asking that we no longer have people leaving the residential facility for weekend visits. This will lessen the exposure possibilities for all the people who live in that residence, many of whom have compromised health conditions. We will make every effort to accommodate any virtual visits through Skype, FaceTime, Duo, or any other platform you would like. Please call the Support Specialist to make any arrangements for a virtual visit.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but rest assured we are making this request with the best interests of all the people we serve in mind.
If you would like to take your family member home while we get through this public health issue, please call their Support Specialist or Sharon Oien to make necessary arrangements.
Your family member’s Support Specialist will be calling you regarding this and will be happy to answer any of your questions, or you are always welcome to call if you have any questions.
Elizabeth Kathol, Executive Director
